Two InDesign Awards!

Award Winning Ombre Earrings from K.Mita | InDesign AwardsI was so happy when I learned that I won two InDesign awards! My  Ombre Earrings and Crown “Power” Ring came in 2 nd place in the Silver category and the Wedding and Engagement category, respectively. The competition was sponsored by InStore magazine to recognize the most creative jewelry of the year, so I was very honored.

My Ombre Earrings are 55 x 12mm and are made from 18k yellow gold, 14k green gold, argentium and oxidized sterling silver. They are hinged in the back to create movement. My  Crown Ring is 15mm wide and is made from 18k yellow gold. It features a 0.85ct champaigne rosecut diamond surrounded by 0.21ct brown diamonds. The shape of the rosecut diamond prompted Jennifer Heebner, a noted jewelry editor and blogger, to liken it to Wonder Woman’s headband.

Award Winning Crown "Power" Ring from K.Mita | InDesign Awards

Tara Silberberg of The Clay Pot thought my Ombre Earrings had a “beautiful combo of colors and textures” while Amanda Gizzi of National Jeweler commented on the “texture, finish and feeling of movement” in the earrings. The judges liked the “soft and subtle” diamond, the “wide sculptural statement” and the “dynamic design” of my Crown Ring. Thank you to everybody who voted for me!
